Release Notes
What’s new in Whiteout Outpost — new tools, improvements, and fixes.
September 12, 2026
- FixCastle names in an exported map image now fit inside their castle. Long names were drawn too large for the tile and ran across their neighbours — only in the PNG, not on the map itself.
September 11, 2026
- FixPlacing a castle for a member now puts it where you are actually looking. Zoomed in, it was landing in the far corner of the map instead of on screen.
- ImprovedThe card that appears when you select a castle or a structure is about half as tall on a phone, so it stops covering the map — it still shows everything it did before.
- NewBear Trap Reports is now a listed tool at /bear-reports, and reports belong to your alliance: only people with a role in it can read an event or file a report, and R4/R5 curate or delete. The old link still works.
- NewRally leads in a report are matched to your alliance roster automatically, by in-game name or the alias you gave them. Anyone who doesn't match is asked about once — link them to an existing member, add them to the roster, or say they aren't yours — and the answer is remembered for every future trap.
- ImprovedAdding someone from a report to the roster is always an explicit choice, never a side effect of uploading, and a player wearing another alliance's tag is never offered.
- NewCastles on the State Map are now coloured by a measured bear trap score instead of a number you typed in. Tick which events should count in Bear Trap Reports and the map follows — 100 is the average rally lead, and anyone the ticked events don't cover stays grey rather than being scored zero.
- NewMark a bear trap on the map as BT1 or BT2. Selecting it then shows the reports filed for that trap and links straight to the rankings.
- ImprovedThe old hand-typed “avg score” field has been removed from the castle form, since the score is measured now.
- ImprovedBear Trap Reports now shows example screenshots of exactly what to capture — including two consecutive shots whose overlap you can see — so it's clear what a good capture looks like. Player names in the examples are blurred.
- ImprovedThat guide can be hidden once you've read it, and stays hidden next time.
- FixThe Bear Trap Reports heading is readable again in the light theme — it was rendering almost white on a white page.
September 10, 2026
- FixIf you lead more than one alliance, the map no longer copies another alliance's castles into the roster of the one you are editing — which could leave two alliances holding the same member list.
- FixThe map now tells you when a castle or banner belongs to another alliance instead of letting you delete or move it, which looked like it worked and undid itself on the next load. Switch the editing alliance to change it.
- FixSaving the map no longer clears the aliases you have given your alliance members.
- ImprovedIf the alliance roster has changed since you opened the map — from another device, another tab, or an import — saving now stops and asks you to reload, rather than quietly replacing the newer version.
- ImprovedPlacing a castle for a member now says when the alliance simply has no members yet, and points at the import, instead of reporting that everyone already has one.
September 9, 2026
- NewA new Alliance Members tool holds your alliance roster — rank, power and furnace level — and shows at a glance who still has no castle on the State Map.
- NewImport that roster straight from screenshots of the in-game Alliance Members screen: it reads names, ranks, power and furnace levels, checks its count against the totals the game shows, and asks you about anyone it could not match.
- NewPlace a castle for a member from the map — pick someone who has none and it lands in view, beside the last one you placed, carrying on in the same direction once you have placed two in a row.
- ImprovedRemoving a member who has a castle now marks that castle defunct instead of deleting it, since the building is still there in game until somebody tears it down.
- NewGive each alliance member an alias — what your alliance actually calls the person behind an in-game name — and switch the roster and the map's castle labels between the two with one toggle. Anyone without an alias keeps their in-game name.
- FixPicking a tool in the State Map's palette now lights the same tool in the tool bar, instead of leaving the two disagreeing about which one was armed.
- FixA castle could end up saved onto the same tile several times over, so deleting it looked like it did nothing — the map now refuses to store two castles on one tile, and the affected rosters have been cleaned up.
- FixThe Tools menu can be scrolled on a phone, so the tools at the bottom of the list are reachable on the State Map, where the page itself does not scroll.
- FixSaving the alliance roster no longer fails when two members share a name — which happens on its own, since a castle placed on the map is auto-named. The roster still points the pair out, so you can tell them apart or rename one.
- ImprovedThe member list now fits a phone screen: each member is a card instead of a row you had to scroll sideways to read.
- NewSort the member list by rank, name, power, furnace or castle, and search it by name, alias or rank.
September 7, 2026
- FixDeleting a structure on the State Map was not saved — it disappeared until you reloaded, and then came back.
- FixThe orange “moved” markers on the State Map now clear when you save, instead of staying on every castle you moved until you reloaded the page.
- FixEvery castle you moved was marked in the same orange; they are grouped by colour again, so castles that had to swap places with each other share one.
- ImprovedSaving the State Map only writes what you actually changed, and tells you when there is nothing to save.
- NewThe War Academy shows what a research plan is worth in SvS, King of Icefield and Alliance Showdown, and which days of each it scores on.
September 1, 2026
- FixTapping something on the State Map shows what it is again — its type, coordinate, the tiles it covers, and whose it is.
- NewIf you lead more than one alliance in a state, you can choose which one you are editing for, and new objects go to it.
August 30, 2026
- FixThe coordinate numbers along the edges of a downloaded map were too small to read, and overlapped each other on a wide export.
- FixHeld sideways, a phone was given the desktop tool bar and the last few tools fell off the bottom of the screen.
August 28, 2026
- ImprovedDownloading the map as a PNG now captures what you are looking at, widened to a 16:9 picture, rather than the whole state.
August 27, 2026
- ImprovedEditing the State Map on a phone is far less cramped: the mode bar is a single slim line, Save sits beside it, and the palette is a shorter sheet with smaller tiles so you can still see the map you are editing.
- FixOn phones the New Player dialog was partly off the right of the screen and the mode bar covered its first field, so a castle could not be named.
- NewThe State Map has a proper tool bar: pick Move, Delete, terrain, alliance structures or a player castle and it stays picked — long press a tool to choose which kind it places.
- ImprovedUndo, redo, save and the zoom controls are tools on that bar, and the Layout, Key, Filter, Import and Manage panels moved behind a single menu button so they no longer ring the map.
- ImprovedEditing is no longer a mode you switch on and off — the map is always ready to edit.
- ImprovedPlanning a castle layout no longer asks for a password; it now uses your alliance role, like every other alliance edit.
- ImprovedTap the tool you are using a second time to put it down, instead of looking for a Done button.
- ImprovedEditing a castle's roster details is now its own tool, next to placing one, so the map no longer carries a status bar explaining what you just selected.
- FixDownloading the map as a PNG failed once the map covered most of the state; it now scales the image to fit instead of giving up.
- ImprovedDownload PNG moved into the map menu, and the menu reads as a menu rather than a stack of buttons.
August 26, 2026
- FixObjects imported from screenshots sat a tile or two from where the game has them; the map now places them on the coordinate the game shows, and every location it displays is that same coordinate.
- FixGathering nodes imported from screenshots were silently not saved — the map said there was nothing to save and the node was gone on reload.
- ImprovedStructures on the State Map are drawn a little smaller when you are zoomed out, so a crowded area is easier to read.
- FixSaving a gathering node on the State Map no longer rewrites the others, so two people editing the map at once keep each other's work.
- FixMountains and water you paint on the State Map now save, instead of disappearing on reload.
- ImprovedThe State Map reopens where you left it, at the same place and zoom.
- FixPlacing or moving a multi-tile object on the State Map put it two tiles from the square the map highlighted, so it could refuse a spot that was free or accept one that wasn't.
- ImprovedWhen the State Map won't let you place something, it now tells you what is in the way and where, instead of just saying blocked.
- FixPlayer castles could shift a tile diagonally each time the map was saved.
August 25, 2026
- NewThe State Map is now in the Tools menu: your state's tactical grid, with terrain, gathering nodes, alliance banners and every player castle laid out where they actually sit.
- NewThe map shows the capture points — the castle at the centre, the four strongholds around it and the twelve fortresses on the ring — each drawn to its real 7x7 footprint.
- NewGrey no-build zones are marked around the castle, strongholds, fortresses and facilities, with the castle's red battle area inside its own, so you can see where a banner will and won't go before you place it.
- NewAlliance leadership can claim a state or an alliance tag on the map, hand out editor access, and choose which of your layers other alliances get to see.
- NewYou can import map objects straight from screenshots: open an object's info popup, upload the shot, and check the coordinates it read before applying them.
- ImprovedIf the profiles on your device and the profiles on your account have drifted apart, the app now asks which ones to keep instead of quietly picking one list.
- ImprovedThe State Map now follows the light theme, so its panels and labels stay readable when you switch.
- ImprovedYou can mark one profile as your primary, and that's the one other people see when your alliance's leadership looks you up on the State Map.
- FixThe State Map was drawing everything with its axes swapped, so structures appeared in the wrong place; the map now matches what you see in game.
- FixOn phones the import panel's Add button could end up below the edge of the screen with no way to scroll to it.
- FixOn phones the edit tools now open as a proper sheet, so Delete is reachable.
- ImprovedThe State Map now shows a Save button at the top whenever you have unsaved changes, so edits and imports don't sit in your browser unnoticed.
- FixOn phones the player name box in Profiles was squeezed down to a couple of characters.
August 18, 2026
- NewThe Heroes page now draws the Arena squad layout: the five positions as they sit on the board, with the role each one is reserved for — tank front right, support front left, disabler back middle, carry back left and finisher back right.
- NewPick one hero per arena seat and the squad is saved to your profile. The list starts with the heroes suited to that seat, and a Show every hero switch opens it up to the rest if you want to do something different.
- NewFill empty seats drops the best-rated hero into each position you have not chosen yourself, without touching the picks you have already made.
- ImprovedEvery hero in the Arena chart now shows the position they belong in, and a hero's own page names their arena seat and any second role they can cover.
- FixThe hero comparison charts no longer end up with rows of uneven heights on a narrow window, and the panel's corner marks stay in the corners when the table is scrolled sideways on a phone.
August 15, 2026
- NewA new Name & Chat Composer builds chief names, chat messages and alliance notices that the game will actually accept, with the real character limits for each one counted as you type.
- NewChat messages can use the game's own icons — meat, wood, speedups, flags and the rest — inserted as a single character each, with a preview showing how the message will look in game.
- NewEvery character on offer was tested in game first, so the styles that quietly vanish, the frames that turn into boxes and the colour tags the game blanks out simply are not there.
- NewName mode knows the rename rules: 3 to 16 characters, which punctuation is allowed, and why a name will be refused — worth knowing before you spend 400 gems on it.
- NewA kaomoji palette with faces like the bear, plus the individual eyes, mouths, arms and brackets to build your own.
- NewLetter styles that survive in game — fullwidth, circled, Cherokee and parenthesised — pick a whole style or single characters.
- NewReady-made chat and notice templates for bear trap calls, rally calls, SvS prep and recruitment.
- FixThe profile button in the top bar no longer slides under the tool menu on a phone.
August 14, 2026
- NewThe site now has a light theme. Use the toggle in the top bar to switch between light and dark, and it remembers which one you picked next time you visit.
- FixThe corner brackets on the panels in the Fire Crystal, Bear Trap Squad and Expert calculators are being drawn again — they had quietly stopped showing up.
August 13, 2026
- NewHeroes — track each hero's Exclusive Gear level and the Widgets you're holding, set a gear target, and see the widgets you still need after your own stock and your widget chests.
- NewHeroes — the gear panel shows what a hero's Exclusive Gear actually gives you: its stats and power at your current and target level, plus both exclusive skills and the level each one has reached.
- NewHeroes — a new Event Points card totals what spending your plan is worth in SvS prep, King of Icefield and Alliance Showdown, split between widgets and hero shards, and tells you which days each one actually scores on.
- NewHeroes — the gear panel now tells you whether a hero's widget is a rally or a defender widget, so you know when it actually does something, and suggests the gear level worth reaching for how you play.
- ImprovedHeroes — the recommended plan now sets exclusive gear targets as well as star targets, so the widgets you'd need are counted in with the shards and EXP.
- ImprovedPets — the planner now tells you how many more Pet Advancement Material Chests it would take to cover what you are still short of, broken down by material, and it shows that even when you have no chests yet.
- NewA new Hero Gear tool: add the gear you actually own and arrange it into sets — the Goggles, Gloves, Belt and Boots a hero wears — with a set for each troop type and as many as you like.
- NewEnter each piece's enhancement and Mastery Forging level, aim at a target, and see exactly what it takes: Essence Stones, Mithril, Mythic Hero Gear and Enhance XP, checked against what your profile is holding.
- NewHero Gear shows the power and buffs each piece and each full set gives you, what a planned upgrade would add, and which empowerment milestones it would unlock along the way.
- NewHero Gear works out the Mastery Forging a target needs and adds it to the plan, because a piece cannot be enhanced past +100 or through an empowerment without it.
- NewA new Event Points card totals what a hero gear plan is worth in SvS prep, King of Icefield and Alliance Showdown, and tells you which days each material actually scores on — one Mithril alone is worth 144,000 points.
- ImprovedEssence Stones, Mithril, Mythic Hero Gear and Enhance XP are now part of your profile's resources, so what you enter is saved with your profile and shared across tools.
August 12, 2026
- NewA new Troop Training Calculator works out what your resources and speedups actually buy: how many Infantry, Lancers and Marksmen you can train or promote from T1 to T12, the power you'd gain, and the SvS, King of Icefield and Hall of Chiefs points they'd score.
- NewThe training calculator tells you which one of your speedups, meat, wood, coal or iron runs out first, so you can see what is actually holding a plan back instead of assuming it is always speedups.
- NewSet how much to train as a share, as whole batches, or as an exact number of troops, and switch between the three at any time without losing what you had planned. State appointments like Vice President and Minister of Education can be ticked on to see their effect on training speed and batch size.
- ImprovedYour troop counts are shared with the Bear Trap Squad Calculator, and the training calculator reads your camp levels from the Building Upgrade Calculator, so troop power reflects your actual Fire Crystal levels without entering anything twice.
- ImprovedFigures for T1 to T11 are cross-checked against two independent sources. T12 numbers are still unconfirmed and are marked as such in the tool, so you know which totals to treat as indicative.
- NewPets — a new Event Payoff card shows what your plan is worth: the Pet Advancement Score you would gain from the advancements you have targeted, the SvS and King of Icefield points that score earns on the Beast Slay and Power Boost days, and the troop buff it adds.
- NewPets — you can now track your Pet Advancement Material Chests. Because each chest is a choice of one material, the planner spends them on whatever you are shortest of, serum first, then potions, then manuals, and shows what each chest covered and how many you would have left.
- FixTapping a dropdown or field on a phone no longer zooms the page in when you are holding it in landscape.
- FixChief Gear & Charms — a collapsed gear card no longer shows a pointless "to" level when you haven't set a target, or set one at the level you're already on. It just tells you where the piece and its charms are now.
July 30, 2026
- ImprovedChief Gear & Charms — charm sub-levels are now built into the level dropdowns (Lv 11, Lv 11-1 … Lv 11-4, Lv 12), so you can set exactly where a charm is, and the materials, SvS points, and stat bonus account for partial progress within a level.
- ImprovedEvery tool now has its own illustrated icon on the home page and in the Tools menu, replacing the plain outline symbols.
July 27, 2026
- ImprovedBear Trap Squad Calculator — added one-click troop-ratio presets (like 10/10/80 for the lead and 100% Marksman for joiners) and a "Max fill" that fills each squad with your highest-level troops first, up to its size limit.
- NewBear Trap Squad Calculator — a relative damage estimate so you can compare which troop mix hits hardest against the bear.
- FixBear Trap Squad Calculator — squads can no longer be filled past their deployment limit.
July 26, 2026
- ImprovedChief Gear & Charms — the Material Exchange now works with your materials list: what you spend and what you get back both update your remaining shortfall, and each trade is capped at what you actually have on hand. Your exchange amounts are also now saved per profile.
- ImprovedExpert Calculator — Valeria, Baldur, and Holger now show the full per-level buff tables for their skills and talents, so you can see exactly what each upgrade grants.
- FixExpert Calculator — fixed several display issues on mobile where labels were truncated or rows misaligned.
- FixTapping a text field on iPhone no longer zooms the page in.
July 25, 2026
- ImprovedBear Trap Squad Calculator — you can now factor in your city's deployment-capacity buff when sizing each squad, and Iron Rhino's Rallying Beasts pet skill when planning your rally capacity.
- NewHeroes — a new Charts view rates every hero on the five jobs they actually do: leading a Bear Trap rally, joining one, attacking, holding a garrison, and the arena. A hero who is superb at one is often weak at another, so pick the job first and the chart shows who fits.
- NewBear Trap Squad Calculator — Suggest squads fills your lead rally and joiner squads from the heroes you own. It uses known formations where your roster allows one and says so when it is going on its own judgement instead, and you can review the whole suggestion before applying it.
- NewHeroes — a Recommended plan shows which heroes are worth focusing on and how many stars to aim for, adjusted for whether you spend. Applying it sets each hero's target so the Growth plan totals the shards, hero EXP and skill manuals you still need.
- ImprovedHeroes — every hero now shows where its shards come from, including the many that were previously blank, and whether that source is reachable free to play.
July 24, 2026
- NewExpert Calculator — added the new expert Gareth (Ironthorn Chief), so you can plan his affinity advancement, sigils, and skill books alongside the others.
- FixLinking a player to a profile now uses the name and state you enter, with a generated avatar — the automatic in-game lookup is no longer available.
July 13, 2026

- NewPets tracker & planner — track each pet's level and combined troop buffs, and plan the Pet Food and advancement materials needed to reach a target level.
- NewRelease Notes — this page, so you can keep up with what's new.
